Description
The heart and pericardium have been cut to show that the pericardial sac is distended by blood clot.
The clot has been cut away to show flakes of blood on the epicardium. The source of the bleeding
is not apparent but is presumed to be due to a ruptured myocardial infarct.
History
This man, a retired engineer, had 'bronchitis' for fourteen days which showed no response
to Bactrim but some improvement with vibramycin. He died suddenly
